Here are some potential lyrics for song number 19 for the album.

See how the Holy Spirit will inspire you with a melody. The words come from Romans 5:1-5:

Perserverance

Who has been given to you and me?

Who dwells within to set us free?

Free from our fears

Drying our tears

It is the Holy Spirit, Oh yes.

God’s love poured out

Our hearts to bless

It is the Holy Spirit, Oh yes.

So even when we suffer

It grows our perseverance.

Resilience to make us tougher

Shape our character: forbearance

Give to us the strength to cope

Lead us on to hope, a shameless hope

To thrive, to fully live,

As we receive

God’s boundless love.

We boast,

we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

Inspired by attending the annual Mission Worship conference, we set out  to write music for our local community. During a two year period, Heather connected with the co-writing teaching of Krissy and Eric Nordhoff, rising to the challenge of a 3 month and then a 10 day daily song composition exercise.  One of the songs on the album, ‘Jesus you are here’, is a resultant collaboration with Cristaña Carmen and Deborah Diblee.

A number of workshops in Witney Congregational Church with local musicians helped develop the initial ideas into full blown teaching, worship and praise songs. Thank you to all who have helped along the way.

The majority of the lyrics are either Bible stories or drawn directly from Bible texts. Praise God for the richness of His Word!
